چکیده
The Forchheimer equation is widely used in studying non-Darcy flow. Non-Darcy flow coefficient β the generally thought to be positive, and there are few studies on negative values. In this work, we performed seepage tests sandstone samples with single, T-shaped, Y-shaped fractures under different confining pressures, water angles analyze nonlinear behaviors features of Forchheimer’s coefficients pore-fracture media. At same time, trajectory fluid inside sample studied by numerical simulation. results showed that was test angle single-fracture had a greater influence characteristic media; T-shaped relatively small impact. relationship between inherent permeability k following power function, differences characteristics three were compared. use normalized hydraulic conductivity method evaluate applicability Darcy’s law. Finally, explained primary cause non-linear fractured samples.

Mathematical analysis of a discrete fracture model coupling Darcy flow in the matrix with Darcy-Forchheimer flow in the fracture
We consider a model for flow in a porous medium with a fracture in which the flow in the fracture is governed by the Darcy-Forchheimer law while that in the surrounding matrix is governed by Darcy’s law. We give an appropriate mixed, variational formulation and show existence and uniqueness of the solution. To show existence we give an analogous formulation for the model in which the Darcy-Forc...
متن کاملBonding Strength Effects in Hydro-Mechanical Coupling Transport in Granular Porous Media by Pore-Scale Modeling
The hydro-mechanical coupling transport process of sand production is numerically investigated with special attention paid to the bonding effect between sand grains. By coupling the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and the discrete element method (DEM), we are able to capture particles movements and fluid flows simultaneously. In order to account for the bonding effects on sand production, a cont...
متن کاملThe impact of porous media heterogeneity on non-Darcy flow behaviour from pore-scale simulation
The effect of pore-scale heterogeneity on non-Darcy flow behaviour is investigated by means of direct flow simulations on 3-D images of a beadpack, Bentheimer sandstone and Estaillades carbonate. The critical Reynolds number indicating the cessation of the creeping Darcy flow regime in Estaillades carbonate is two orders of magnitude smaller than in Bentheimer sandstone, and is three orders of ...
متن کاملA Criterion for Non-Darcy Flow in Porous Media
Non-Darcy behavior is important for describing fluid flow in porous media in situations where high velocity occurs. A criterion to identify the beginning of non-Darcy flow is needed. Two types of criteria, the Reynolds number and the Forchheimer number, have been used in the past for identifying the beginning of non-Darcy flow. Because each of these criteria has different versions of definition...
